When the Boston Bombings happened, there was an interfaith event organized right after to bring together the people of Boston and the nation. Imam Suhaib Webb was the representative of the Boston Muslim community and the greater American Muslim community as well, but last minute he was replaced. He was replaced by a person I never heard of. I consider myself pretty active in the Muslim community in America. I have never heard of the person’s name, Nasser Wedaddy, nor of his organization, the American Islamic Congress (AIC). Whilst other faith groups had respected clergy and popular figures of their respective communties, the Muslims had Wedaddy. It was very unfortunate. We know why know why now though. Electronic Intifiada has discovered that the AIC is a front for the anti-Islam agenda. The likes of Sheldon Adelson and Daniel Pipes have funded the AIC and promoted it. It is unfortunate that Muslims have sold themselves for a few bucks to continue the agenda of bigotry and hate.

Lupe Fiasco Kicked Off Stage at Inaugural Party for lyrics dissing Obama
“Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist,
Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say s***.
That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either.”
Taliban Destroy Historic Buddhist Site: Bad – Chinese Destroy Buddhist Ancient Site: Okay
WHEN the Taliban blasted the famous Bamiyan Buddhas with artillery and dynamite in March 2001, leaders of many faiths and countries denounced the destruction as an act of cultural terrorism. But today, with the encouragement of the American government, Chinese engineers are preparing a similar act of desecration in Afghanistan: the demolition of a vast complex of richly decorated ancient Buddhist monasteries.
The offense of this Afghan monument is not idolatry. Its sin is to sit atop one of the world’s largest copper deposits.
The American government is okay with the destruction of the Buddhist site when the Chinese are doing it but not okay when the Taliban do it. Let’s see what the difference is:
The copper at the Mes Aynak mine, just an hour’s drive south of Kabul, is to be extracted under a roughly $3 billion deal signed in 2007 between Afghanistan and China’s Metallurgical Group Corporation. The Afghan finance minister, Omar Zakhilwal, recently said the project could pump $300 million a year into government coffers by 2016. But the project has been plagued by rumors of corruption; there was widespread talk of a $30 million kickback involving the former minister of mines, who resigned.
Oh, copper you say! Three billion dollars worth of it! By all means, please destroy as much as possible. Will the Afghans see the $3 billion? Who knows!

Dear Egyptian and Libyan Protesters

_______________
In all seriousness I am shocked and surprised of the recent incidents at the US embassies in Egypt and Libya. I have no idea what goes through the mind of someone who claims they are defending the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by burning an American flag or attacking the American embassy. Where does it say this in the Qur’an or Sunnah? Huh! Tell me where!
The film that slandered the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was disgusting and should be condemned. The response though is not violence. The response is education, dawah, and increase in seeking knowledge. The response is to increase in the sending of blessings and salutations upon Muhammad the beloved of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The response is to read a biography of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Alla be upon him). The response is to do a small good deed in charity. The response is to call upon others to learn about Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So many other responses other then the stupidity and idiocy of burning American flags, storming American embassies and murdering American diplomats.
May Allah guide us all and forgive us. May Allah educate us and remove the ignorance from our minds. Ameen!
Reading the news like an Islamophobe from a bias, stereotypical Muslim perspective
A friend posted a link to this really sad article of a father and his two daughters enjoying a beautiful day bike riding in their neighborhood. A reckless driver was speeding down the road and lost control hitting down the family biking Sadly, the father and one of the daughters passed away. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon (From God we came and it is God we will return to). May Allah (God) have mercy on them and grant them jannatul firdaus (the garden of paradise – the highest level of heaven in Islam).

“The only Democracy in the Middle East”: Women not allowed to speak at conference for Women
In Jerusalem, women are voiceless at a decidedly womanly event
The controversial exclusion of women from various settings in Israel because of pressure from ultra-Orthodox Jewish leaders reached a new level this week with a major conference on gynecological advances that is permitting only males to address the audience.
The conference on “Innovations in Gynecology/Obstetrics and Halacha [Jewish law]” is being held by the Puah Institute this Wednesday in Jerusalem. It will include such topics as “ovary implants,” “how to choose a suitable contraceptive pill” and “intimacy during rocket attacks,” in which there are many qualified female professionals, but none will be permitted to speak, at least not from the podium.

Not saying Muslim countries aren’t women-friendly either (some are better than others), but Muslim countries don’t claim to be the “only Democracy in the Middle East”. Then again, Democracy in another country known as the “defender of the of the free world” pre-1900 didn’t allow Women to vote.
Just postin…
