CIA report from 2004 predicts a Caliphate in 2020

The National Intelligence Council made up of various intelligence experts that report to the CIA released a report in 2004 called “Mapping the Global Future (PDF)“.

Jonathan S. Landay reported this on January 13, 2005 saying:

“There is a substantial risk that broad Islamic extremist movements akin to al-Qaida will merge with local separatist movements,” it continued. The spread of radical Islam beyond the Middle East will be made possible by global communications.

The report presented one scenario, dubbed “The New Caliphate,” in which an obscure Islamic cleric emerges to lead a worldwide Islamic movement.

Current Vice President of ISNA, Azhar Azeez, posted this on his Facebook and I thought I’d share it on my blog since it’s such an amazing story of the history of Islam in America:

In 18 hours, 51 people raised $9,050 to send a poor elderly Muslim brother to Hajj

Allah hu Akbar! God is greater! This is an amazing story of a sister, Fatimah Aulaqi, raising money for a hajj ticket for a Muslim elder int he community, brother Hassan. May Allah reward her for this initiative and everyone who donated. May Allah accept the hajj of our dear elder brother Hassan and accept his duas.

Things like this make me happy. This is the barakah of Ramadan. This is the barakah of Muslims donating for the sake of Allah.

You can click here to see the campaign or donate more for his living expenses.

Here is the story of brother Hassan:

Popular Atheist, Sam Harris, loves the Adhan, Sufi Dhikr and calls Recitation of the Quran a “haunting beauty”

Sam Harris is a popular Atheist who has very critical views of Islam. Some would say he is an Islamophobe. Regardless his recent post on his site on Islam is very interesting. I found these comments surprising coming from someone who probably would love to rid the world of Islam.

Even with all his dislike of Islam, he finds parts of Islam beautiful. Reminds me of the first Muslims, many of whom were enemies of Islam and became the best Muslims like Khalid bin Waleed or Umar ibn al Khattab. Here are some of the lines where he shares his positive comments on Islam:

Where are the condemnations for these crimes from Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Atheists, etc.?

Where are the condemnations for these crimes from Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Atheists, etc.?

Often when a Muslim commits a criminal act is expected for all Muslim organizations, Muslim groups and Mosques to condemn the actions of the Muslim criminal. I find this really sad and dumb.  No Muslim is responsible for the criminal acts of another Muslim.  No Muslim should have to apologize for another Muslim’s criminal act. We still do it many times over and over. With the recent murder committed by two Muslims in the UK, every major Muslim organization issued statements condemning it. Popular Muslim figures released videos condemning it. Yet it is often stated by some, “where are the Muslim condemnations?”. So with that said, I am asking where are the condemnations for these crimes? More

“Islam is evil. Muslims are terrorists. The Muslim world is violent and barbaric. There is no freedom in Islam.”

“Islam is evil. Muslims are terrorists. The Muslim world is violent and barbaric. There is no freedom in Islam.”

There is no compulsion in religion. The correct way (the truth) is clearly distinct from the falsehood, thus whoever disbelieves in the false deities and believes in God he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle, which shall not break off, and God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Qur’an, Surah Baqarah, Ayah 256)

The statements in the title are a general summary of what many say when leaving Islam. Almost every person who leaves Islam that I have met and spoken to or heard their story they all cite the same general principle: “Islam and Muslims are horrible. Sunnis and Shia kill each other. They blow themselves up. They kill people for leaving Islam. They suppress their women. They don’t educate girls. They hate Jews and Christians. They wage Jihad wherever they go against anyone who doesn’t believe in Islam, etc.” and the list goes on.  I will share my personal thoughts on how I react to these statements.  I myself think about this and look at how some Muslims are.  I hope it benefits those who are having trouble dealing with Islam and thoughts on leaving Islam.
