Please follow the Qur’an and Sunnah. Shukran.
Sincerely,

In all seriousness I am shocked and surprised of the recent incidents at the US embassies in Egypt and Libya. I have no idea what goes through the mind of someone who claims they are defending the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by burning an American flag or attacking the American embassy. Where does it say this in the Qur’an or Sunnah? Huh! Tell me where!
The film that slandered the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was disgusting and should be condemned. The response though is not violence. The response is education, dawah, and increase in seeking knowledge. The response is to increase in the sending of blessings and salutations upon Muhammad the beloved of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The response is to read a biography of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Alla be upon him). The response is to do a small good deed in charity. The response is to call upon others to learn about Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So many other responses other then the stupidity and idiocy of burning American flags, storming American embassies and murdering American diplomats.
May Allah guide us all and forgive us. May Allah educate us and remove the ignorance from our minds. Ameen!

Dear Ibn Percy,
The Sahaba disagree with you. They are the best of the best in our Ummah. When kuffaar insulted the Prophet [](/pbuh) around them, they would get enraged.
Abu Bakr as’Siddeeq (radiAllahu anhu), the best man to walk the Earth after the Prophets, told a Mushrik to “go suck the clitoris of al’Laat” when he insulted the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
‘Umar ibn Al Khattab (radiAllahu anhu), Al Farooq, the one about whom Rasulullah [](/pbuh) said “if there was to be a Prophet after me, it would be ‘Umar,” would beg Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to let him chop off the insulter’s head.
On two different occassion, *blind* Sahabas executed kuffaar who were cursing Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
The consensus of the Muslims is that the one who insults the Messenger of Allah is killed, whether Muslim or kaafir, without warning, without accepting any repentance.
So no, the response is not “education, da’wah, charity and reading his biography.”
Please keep your revisionism to yourself.

I do not agree with this. I do not believe the sahabah disagree with me. My teachers have taught me different.
I will blog in my next post the scholars response to the response of this inshaAllah.
Edit: Here is a list of many scholars who have dedicated their lives to studying Islam issuing statements regarding the incident. And Allah knows best.

are your teachers better than the sahabah? if you were being attacked would you wait for scholars to tell you to defend yourself? may allah swt guide you and have mercy on you

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught the Sahabas (may Allah be pleased with them all) who taught the Tabieen scholars who taught the Tab Tabieen scholars who taught their students who taught their students and so forth up to our current generation of scholars and students. They are all my teachers.

Thanks for approving the comment and your reply, brother. I disagree with your disagreement.
I am limiting my response to the issue of dealing with one who insults the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Obviously the response of the Libyans and Egyptians is not the correct response, and they are not even the correct group of people to respond. The obligation is on the American Muslims to defend the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam honor.
Your scholars are not the Imams, and their opinions are irrelevant in the face of the consensus of the Imams. I direct you to Imam Ibn Taymiyyah’s (rahimahullah) “al-Sarim al-Maslul ‘ala Shatim al-Rasul” and Qadi Iyad’s (rahimahullah) “al-Shifa.”
When Imam Malik (rahimahullah) says that the one who insults the Prophet sallallalhu alayhi wa sallam is to be killed without warning, even if he says as little as “the Prophet’s button is dirty,” and your teachers are saying something in complete contradiction, that should raise serious red flags to every Muslim of Ahlu’s'Sunnah who claims to love Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala give us the tawfeeq and thabaat to follow the example of the Sahaba radiallahu anhum in such matters.

So we agree the response was wrong. So my post is to the Egyptians and Libyans on what they could do. That was the entire point of this post. Instead of burning tires or throwing molotov cocktails, they could have done some better things.
Although the latest reports now suggest that this is not just about the insults against Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) but rather more of anti-American sentiment due to America’s support for the previous governments that were removed.
The scholars that I listed were not talking about the Islamic law on the issue of insulting the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). They were responding to the incidents in Libya and Egypt.
Allah knows best.

I cant believe people took that video seriously. It was ridiculously bad. I feel like some people just are waiting for something like this to come to rile up Muslims and make them do their bidding and other people are just looking for an excuse to express their anger or show off their religiosity. I understand that our brothers and sisters in other countries see this as an attack by a country that has caused them a lot of distress, but we have to really start thinking about the effects of our actions and put away the over zealousness.
