British singer, Ellie Goulding, releases Song for Syrian Children

It’s rare to find celebrities doing something about tragic events occurring in some parts of the Muslim world due to it’s complexities. I applaud and thank musical artist Ellie Goulding for making this song for the children of Syria in trying to raise funds through the Save the Children UK charity organization. This will shed light to a depressing and tragic event unfolding in Syria to a wider audience.

You can donate by buying the song on iTunes here or this link here.

Khalid bin al-Walid’s Grave Destroyed and Mosque Damaged in Syria

Khalid bin al-Walid’s Grave Destroyed and Mosque Damaged in Syria

The grave of one of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Khalid ibn al-Walid (May Allah be pleased with him) has been destroyed by forces of Bashar al Assad. This is very sad that I am speechless.

May Allah have mercy on the innocent population of Syria and remove the oppressors. May Allah protect all the historical and religious sites in Syria from this conflict.

“How come the Syrian embasses haven’t been stormed!” Answer: They have been.

“How come the Syrian embasses haven’t been stormed!” Answer: They have been.

Many Muslims (including myself) complain and talk about how Muslims are protesting, getting angry, burning flags and storming embassies around the world because of a stupid video on the web while they do not about what is happening in Syria.  They usually say how come Syrian embassies aren’t stormed or attacked.

The fact of the matter is the Syrian embassies around the world have been attacked:

London, Australia, Cairo and other places:

Protesters attacked seven Syrian embassies around the world following reports of the bloodiest episode yet in Damascus’ nearly yearlong crackdown on dissent. Mobs trashed diplomats’ offices from London to Australia and set the embassy in Cairo on fire. (source)

Saudi Arabia plans to fund Syria rebel army

Saudi Arabia plans to fund Syria rebel army

Saudi officials are preparing to pay the salaries of the Free Syria Army as a means of encouraging mass defections from the military and increasing pressure on the Assad regime, the Guardian has learned.

The move, which has been discussed between Riyadh and senior officials in the US and Arab world, is believed to be gaining momentum as a recent flush of weapons sent to rebel forces by Saudi Arabia and Qatar starts to make an impact on battlefields in Syria.

Officials in the Saudi capital embraced the idea when it was put to them by Arab officials in May, according to sources in three Arab states, around the same time that weapons started to flow across the southern Turkish border into the hands of Free Syria Army leaders.

Saudi Scholars Pledge Not To Raise Funds For Syria But One Saudi Scholar Offers $450,000 Reward For Bashar’s Death

Note: My translations are very poor. If you can correct it, please let comment below. JazakAllah khair.

This is the statement from the Scholars Committee on Syria from Saudi Arabia:

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions.

To proceed:

A few officials have contacted members of the Committee of Scholars for the support of Syria and demanded of them to stop the campaign to raise funds immediately. The officials based their demands on the verses “So fear Allah as much as ye can…”[Surah 64, V.16] and “On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear…” [Surah 2, V. 286]. Then, for the sake of the public interest, the committee announced it is halting the campaign for donations. Further, the committee said it is unable to accept funds and their campaign has ended. The Committee wishes to thank everyone that responded and took part in the campaign.

We ask Allah to assist our brothers in Syria and to humiliate their disbelieving tyrannical enemies. We pray for victory soon, verily after hardship and distress comes ease.

Peace and blessing of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and his companions.

The Scholars committee for Syria.

I just left Riyadh after 2 hours and signed a pledge not to fundraise for Syira. I hope from those who have intended to come to Masjid Al-Bawardi to donate, not to burden themselves with doing so.

Very interesting.

[UPDATE] Shaykh Muhammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti supports Assad and condemns the Protestors as “scum”

UPDATE: Shaykh Muhammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti has been killed in Syria. May Allah have mercy on him and forgive him. He was a great scholar and although I disagreed with his views on the Syrian war, his Islamic knowledge was extremely extensive and blessed.

This is very sad and unfortunate that he has taken the wrong side.

After that he was protested in the masjid and forced to leave:

It is important to note that Shaykh al-Bouti has tremendous knowledge and has greatly benefited our ummah. We should not forget this.

Update: The son of Shaykh Said Ramadan al Bouti has left Syria and disassociated himself from his father’s position on Assad. (Source)

May Allah have mercy on him and us all! Ameen!

Angel or Man? He picks up a body off the streets of Syria with calm and ease

It is hard to see but in the video a man is seen dressed with a white thoub, white turban and a belt around his waist almost identical to the way the Prophet (s) and the sahaba use to dress walking the streets of Syria during this chaotic period.  Everyone else is frantic running around whilst this man is calmly walking like nothing is happening.  He then picks up a body of a wounded person with ease and continues to walk towards a crowd of people and delivers the body to them.  He then vanishes from the seen.
