that is not true at all buddy…..the jihadi movement is not, and cannot logically be based on ONE fatwa..first.
Second, the jihadi movement doesnot need a fatwa, just go and read the Qur’an….you have enough ”fatwas” there….
And third; have you even read the Fatwa of Mardin? It has absolutely nothing to do with our state today… These shaykhs have changed a lot these last times….the hamza yusuf of today is not the same of some years ago….and with them has changed their attitude towards ”democracy”….
We are talking about Al Qaeda not JIhad. Al Qaeda does not represent the Jihad of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Read the history of Al-Qaeda and read what they have said. I disagree and believe they are wrong.
‘they’ have said? Who are ‘they’ exactly? Because there are so many Jihadi branches today out there, and not all of them say the same things….. And by the way, it depends where u take the info from….
Its quite easy to speak from where we’re seated bro…’cause war has never knocked at our door…. And it also easy to mock anyone who tries to wage a war in the name of jihad, because they’re labeled ‘terrorists’ all the time….
I wonder what will all these ‘soft muslims’ do when the Mahdi himself comes….probably 99% of them will label him a terrorist too…..
The post is about Al-Qaeda. I am referring to only Al-Qaeda. It is clear what they stand for and what they do. It is also clear for those where war has ravaged their lands their disassociation of Al-Qaeda. You can find the information by speaking to the people f these areas or seeing the documentaries of the war torn Muslim countries where Al-Qaeda has performed their version of ‘Jihad’.
It’s absolutely idiotic to assume that it’s improbable to base an ideology of one person or one text. If this was the case, explain to me the development of Marxism and the basis of democracy. Pseudo-traditionalists have attempted to base a whole entire tradition off Ibn Taymiyya even though, peculiarly enough, Ibn Taymiyya was everything but “traditional” (ie. his belief in the Dunya being eternal and his idea of total logical comprehension of the Qur’an, to name a few). Also, if you believe murdering civilian populations and framing a spiritual tradition as purely “military” is what Islam is, then you have some serious issue. Do not simply regurgitate verses selectively, and disregard the Qur’an as unified, monolithic text. What exactly are you trying to say that the “old” Hamza Yusuf is not the “new” Hamza Yusuf. Just because he doesn’t deliver talks about the New World Order doesn’t mean he’s any less of a Muslim than you. Judge yourself before you judge others.
